Duck Race raises record amount!

DuckThe Friends of Plaxtol Church are delighted to announce that this year’s Duck Race was the most successful yet, raising £2,181.  This is the first time the Duck Race has topped £2,000, so well done everybody! This is a great amount to put towards the project to install new loos and a beverage kitchen in the Church.

It was great to see so many families there enjoying the event and the quality of some of the decorated ducks was outstanding. The rain held off (just!) and the BBQ, bar and cakes all ran out.

Over 50 magnificent people were involved in making it a success and we want to say an absolutely massive thank you to each and every one of you whether you baked cakes, patrolled the river or did a stint on the bar or BBQ.  We can’t name all of you (although we’d like to) but a particular thank you to those that gave up their entire day, namely Rob Chester, Andy Sutton and Mike Wood for manning the BBQ and feeding us so magnificently and also to Bob Dollimore and Tony Rolls for their hard work taking tables, chairs and BBQs to and from the Spoute.
